The inaugural event welcomed 70 guests as part of Iceland’s annual Innovation Week. The entrepreneurs of tomorrow in the making—guests fully engaged during “Circular Innovation on Fire” at Lava Show.
The program opened with a keynote by Lava Show founder, Ragnhildur Ágústsdóttir, who shared the origin story of the company and its journey to becoming the world’s only live indoor lava experience. She also highlighted a groundbreaking innovation: Lava Show in Reykjavik is now powered by methane gas produced from food waste—collected from Reykjavík residents and processed by the Reykjavik waste management company Sorpa. This initiative transforms “rotten bananas” and other organic waste into clean energy, reinforcing Lava Show’s place at the intersection of innovation and sustainability.

The evening concluded with light refreshments, networking, and lively discussions in Lava Show’s spacious on-site store area, which now serves as an ideal setting for mingling, drinks, and social gatherings.
