Lava Show Ignites Taste of Iceland Toronto — Featured on Global News Morning

Lava Show made a fiery impression in Toronto this week as part of Taste of Iceland, bringing the heat—literally—to one of North America’s largest celebrations of Icelandic culture. The team showcased real flowing molten lava at STACKT Market on November 22, offering Canadians a rare chance to experience Iceland’s volcanic power up close.

Ahead of the event, Lava Show was featured in a segment on Global News Morning, where viewers got an exclusive preview of the traveling lava furnace—the only portable unit of its kind in the world. In the interview our founder, Ragnhildur Ágústsdóttir, AKA Lady Lava, was joined by astronomy educator Sævar Helgi Bragason. The broadcast highlighted how the show recreates a volcanic eruption in a safe, controlled environment, giving audiences an unforgettable sensory encounter with Iceland’s natural forces.

A large crowd gathered outdoors at the Taste of Iceland event in Toronto, watching a live presentation. People of all ages sit and stand closely together, many smiling, clapping, and taking photos in the winter sunlight.

At Taste of Iceland, Lava Show presented three lava flows throughout the day, drawing strong interest from festival-goers eager to witness molten lava reaching temperatures of 1,100°C. The activation was a key part of the festival’s final stop of 2025, which also featured Icelandic cuisine, music, art, design, and cultural events across Toronto.

Taste of Iceland is organized by Inspired by Iceland and brings Icelandic innovation, creativity, and nature to audiences across North America. Lava Show’s dramatic live demonstration once again proved to be a festival highlight—bringing the land of fire and ice to life in the heart of Toronto.
